About Regenerate Skagit
Regenerate Skagit is a community-based initiative rooted in the Skagit watershed in Washington State. Our work focuses on people first—how we build relationships, share understanding, and develop a sense of belonging to the place we live.
We bring people together to listen, learn, and reflect on what it means to live well in the Skagit Valley, in relationship with land, water, and each other.
Vision
A bioregional culture rooted in the Skagit watershed, where people live in relationship with land, water, and one another.
Mission
To cultivate bioregional awareness and belonging by inviting people of all ages to experience the Skagit watershed from multiple perspectives—its rivers, trees, animals, farms, and communities.
We do this through shared art-making, facilitated conversations, deep listening, and participatory gatherings that help people connect to place and to each other.
What We Do
Regenerate Skagit creates programs and events that:
- Help people feel more connected to where they live
- Encourage listening and conversation across differences
- Use creative practices to explore place and community
- Support learning through direct experience rather than instruction
Activities may include community art projects, workshops, walks, discussions, and public gatherings.
Our Approach
We believe care for land grows out of care for people and relationships. Rather than leading with solutions or expertise, we focus on creating spaces where shared understanding, trust, and responsibility can develop over time.

Community & Leadership
Regenerate Skagit is guided by local artists, organizers, educators, and community members. Leadership is collaborative and shaped by participation and place.
